CREATIVE WORK, DIGITAL SYSTEMS + CLIENT EXPERIENCE

My work with Jimmy Alford Studios extended far beyond a single design project. I supported the business across its digital presence, visual production, customer communication and everyday operations. I rebuilt and maintained the website, created new promotional materials and reusable PSD templates, photographed and retouched imagery, handled coding and green screen compositing, and introduced a dedicated website inquiry experience. I also supported front desk communication, answered calls, managed customer inquiries and follow up, updated clients, mailed materials and helped keep day to day studio needs moving.

WHAT I WALKED INTO + HOW I IMPROVED IT.

I stepped into more than a design role. I identified friction across the studio's website, client communication and recurring creative workflow, then built practical improvements around each one.

The existing website no longer reflected the quality or range of the studio's work and felt dated compared with the experience clients expected.
My Response

I rebuilt and maintained the website with a clearer visual hierarchy, updated content, stronger presentation and custom front end work where needed. I approached the site as a working business tool, not simply a visual refresh.

Why It Mattered

The new experience gave the studio a more current digital presence and created a stronger foundation for communicating services, showcasing work and directing prospective clients.

Client communication relied heavily on calls and manual follow up, while the website lacked a structured path for prospective customers to clearly explain what they needed.
My Response

I created a dedicated website inquiry experience and supported the process beyond the screen by reviewing inquiries, following up with clients, answering calls and assisting at the front desk. I also helped communicate with school contacts and administrators, including principals, when studio projects required coordination.

Why It Mattered

This connected the digital intake experience with real client service, giving inquiries a clearer entry point while helping the studio maintain communication across customers, schools and active projects.

Recurring promotions and studio materials created repeated design needs that could easily become inconsistent or require unnecessary rebuilding from scratch.
My Response

I developed reusable PSD templates, promotional graphics and repeatable branded layouts that could support ongoing studio needs without sacrificing visual consistency.

Why It Mattered

Instead of treating each request as an isolated design task, I helped create a more sustainable visual workflow that made recurring production easier to manage.

The studio's creative output depended on more than design alone. Photography, retouching, green screen production, file preparation, customer updates and everyday operational tasks all affected the final client experience.
My Response

I worked across those touch points as needed, supporting image capture and retouching, compositing, client-ready asset preparation, communication, mailing and day to day studio operations. That allowed me to solve problems with an understanding of the entire workflow rather than only my individual task.

Why It Mattered

The role strengthened my ability to connect creative execution with service, production and operations, and to make decisions based on how the work would function in the real business.

WEBSITE + DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

I helped modernize the studio's digital presence by creating and updating its website while also handling the BTS technical work needed to keep the experience functional and current. PHOTOGRAPHY + IMAGE PRODUCTION

My image work included both capturing photographs and preparing finished visual assets for client delivery and promotion. I handled photo retouching, green screen elements and background implementation, combining technical editing with an understanding of how the final images needed to function for the studio and its customers.
  • Photography support and image capture
  • Photo retouching and cleanup
  • Green screen photo elements
  • Background replacement and implementation
  • Client ready image preparation
  • Visual asset organization

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE + STUDIO OPERATIONS

The role also required direct business support. I worked at the front of the studio, answered phone calls, handled customer questions, monitored and responded to inquiries, provided updates, mailed materials and stepped into whatever operational needs were required. This gave me experience connecting creative execution with the customer facing and administrative side of a working business.
  • Front desk and phone support
  • Customer service and client communication
  • Website inquiry management
  • Customer follow up and status updates
  • Mailing and fulfillment support
  • Day to day studio assistance and operations

Portfolio Note

This case study presents a curated selection rather than the full body of work completed during my time with the studio. Some client imagery and project materials are intentionally excluded because of image use permissions, usage rights and client privacy considerations. A significant portion of the studio's photography involved high school students, so I have chosen to prioritize confidentiality and responsible portfolio presentation over showing every deliverable.
